Four brand new coin designs from the world of Mistborn™. The coins come from two distinct time periods in the series: Era 1 (The Final Empire) and Era 2 (Elendel). The coin art was designed at Dragonsteel Entertainment by Isaac Stewart and inked by Ben McSweeney. Brandon Sanderson approved the design, metal, weights, and styles of each coin.

First look - Blackened Coins
Woody just created some prototypes of the Blackened Era 1 coins. This patina is a more extreme version than what already comes on the coins. This mean's it's semi-permanent. It will slowly change with use or stay black in its archival packaging. They will look lovely with some wear.

$60k! Getting close to 1000 backers!
We are still amazed at the response we've gotten for these Mistborn coins. We're rapidly approaching our $75k stretch goal which will unlock solid bronze Clips from Era 1. For being early backers, the first one thousand backers will also get a free gift with their reward. It's a secret for now until we reach that backer number. ;)
It's on Kickstarter now, but ending in less than 24 hours. Coins start from $13 and come in brass, copper, nickel silver, bronze, even .999 fine silver. The coins feel lovely and have a wonderful concept behind them. They are great for gifts or daily reminders. It's also eerily appropriate for the last few days.

Exceeding our personal best -
Until now, our largest Kickstarter campaign was when we launched our coins from The Lord of the Rings™ in 2015. In terms of number of backers, this Mistborn Coins campaign has beaten that record by more than 150 backers in just 2 days.Wow. We are honored to be welcomed by the Cosmere community in this enormous way.
Blackened coins Unlocked!
We reached our $50k stretch goal, unlocking the Ash-stained Era 1 Set. We will do some tests and post photos of protoypes soon. I'll post it as an add-on on the campaign page with pricing when I know what our costs will be compared to the standard set.

Black Brumby coins from our The Lord of the Rings Kickstarter 2015 campaign. These are bronze coins that have been blackened. The copper and brass Mistborn coins will likely have a similar looking patina.
New Stretch Goals Announced!
Here is what our latest stretch goals look like now:
Yes, you read that right. If we hit $75k, we are going to stamp the Era 1 Clip in solid bronze. Same design, new metal. If we hit $100k which is 1000% funded, we're gonna give backer of the Twinborn level and higher FREE COINS. Are we thinking straight? Irrelevant. This is already so much bigger than we could have hoped, we have to reward y'all with something. Expect more free coins showing up in further stretch goals if it keeps going higher from there. ;)
^No judgements for writing y'all, ok? We don't say it all the time but it's a useful and super inclusive word!
Packaging
Some of you have asked about what the archival packaging entails. We haven't finalized our designs but we know close to what it'll be.
Some of our standard packaging for other coins:
Set coins are attached via removable glue dot on descriptive card, heat-sealed in a plastic sleeve. Single coin is in archival plastic coin flip on top of a descriptive card, all in an archival toploader, in a resealable "team bag" to prevent scuffing.
Single Boxings or single Clips will be packaged like the single coin in the photo above (with Mistborn logos if that wasn't obvious).
We don't have many sets of just 2 coins so we're still figuring out how we can best package the Era 1 and Era 2 Sets as well as the Mistborn set. Comment below your preferences for packaging:

Wooden Boxes
The images of the wooden boxes by Wyrmwood Gaming are not to scale with the coins so I wanted to clarify a little about the size and exclusivity.
I don't have the exact size on me yet but I'll add to-scale images into the campaign when I have all the measurments.
Both boxes are the same size and are roughly big enough to hold probably 4-6 boxings without stacking them. This is kind of approximation so I may be a little off!
The Cherry wood box comes with the Collector's Edition level and is available to any level as an add-on for $50 per box. The Collector's Edition level is like the Mistborn level + Box but you'll save $10 compared to purchasing as an add-on.
The Cherry wood box is not Kickstarter Exclusive - if Wyrmwood is able and willing to continue to produce these, they will be available again when these coins are released to the public after the campaign.
The Bolivian Rosewood box is Kickstarter Exclusive, not available as an add-on, and limited to the Cosmerenaut level, strictly limited to 38 boxes.
Quick notes on the Cosmerenaut level:
As of writing this, there are still 10 of 37 Cosmerenaut rewards available. It's $350 and you get some really special and extremely limited rewards.
You may notice that the Near Space Boxings are in an edition of 38 but only 37 rewards are available. We are reserving #1 to gift to Brandon. I'm sure you understand :).
We'll be assigning the edition numbers based on time backed, so the 1st Cosmerenaut backer will get coin #2, the 2nd backer will get coin #3, and so on.
The Near Space coins were scheduled to be launched on September 28 (coincidentally the day of our campaign launch!) by Earth to Sky Calculus. Check out their website to learn about this really cool group who fund science research by offering this service to businesses and individuals! We haven't heard back yet about the flight, but that's not a problem. It takes some time to retrieve the coins from where they landed (probably in the mountains in California) and get the videos back to us but we'll share the images and video of their flight when we get them!
So back early if you want it! They will run out, probably within a day or two.
Stretch Goal Ideas
A lot of you have been suggesting ideas for new stretch goals. This is awesome. (I love Kickstarter for this!) We thought we were prepared, but we are blowing through stretch goals and are going to run out! We can't have that, now, can we?

Wow.
Before we launched, all of us here at Shire Post Mint took bets on how long it would take for us to reach our goal of $10k. Woody (who engraved all of the coins) was the closest with his guess of 4 hours. He wins a day off!
Stretch Goal #1: UNLOCKED
In less than 5 hours from launch we hit $20k, unlocking our first stretch goal: Mistborn-themed envelope.
This envelope will be wax-sealed with a Mistborn-themed stamp and we'll make it feel like it was grabbed from the desk of a nobleman in Luthadel. We don't know exactly what it will look like yet but we'll keep you updated. If you've ordered from us before you probably have a similar envelope that looks something like this:

New Stretch Goals Announced
$30k - Free Wallpaper Pack for all! - All backers will get a download of high quality images of our coins that you can use as desktop backgrounds or to drool over until your coins arrive.
$50k - Blackened Era 1 Set - We've been asked if we'll have ash-stained coins so we figured out how to make them! These will be the standard brass and copper coins but with a solid black patina. This is a long-lasting but removable patina, so it will change if you handle it or stay black if you don't. We'll get tests done soon and show you what it looks like.

Corrections:
TheCosmerenaut level contains 33 coins, not 37. Some mixture of dyslexia and bad math means this mistake is now on the reward sidebar forever! Backers of this level will probably still get at least 37 coins though. ;) More on that later.
